Hmmm well if you want to animate, learn the basics first like how to make a ball bounce or a person to walk or a hand to open and close...just basic movements. Once you got that you can start more complex things then start making animated stories. It takes a lot of work and practice to get good at it but if you keep doing it you get better and better hope that helps!
I loved cartoons and comics as I kid and when I found out you can actually do that for a JOB, I taught myself with books, programs, and classes :b My first real animation was when I was 14, I drew a 4 1/2 min cartoon on the computer called Subject 41 about a lizard character trying to escape a lab that tortures him with tests everyday. It was drawn on DOS an (old black and white pixels) drawing animation program. Then I got Flash and just kept practicing and getting better at drawing too. You can actually still watch Subject 41 on the internet here (but yeah remember its a really old cartoon now and it's graphic too haha Xb : [link]
