Envy is a Crowd-Pleaser

Description

Titled: "Envy is a Crowd-Pleaser" :)

In this one there are a bunch of various demons and things involved in watching the destruction and stripping of another demon. Envy (the big guy with the many arms) is sitting on one side of the wall and admires the other side. Because he envies that other demon but cannot be it, he wants to destroy it.

The sign is saying the "grass is greener" on the other side, which is a saying about how a person envies the things they do not have and thinks it’s better. But the reality is that the grass is exactly the same. One person asked me, why does he envy that demon?? He is not covered in riches or looks any better than the crowd watching him? And I had to explain, "Exactly! He was no different. The act of Envy is a pointless act...because we are all the same. There is no one who's REALLY better; we are just judging a person based on our own desires and wants".

Anyways there is a lot of other meanings going on with the gummy pests and their transformations and what the other demons are doing in relation to "envy" ha-ha but I don’t want to write a 5pg paper in my authors comments :lmao:

Btw this is my first diptych painting! Its two separate paintings playing in connection with each other :> Envy's side being a bigger chunk then the poor guy getting impaled. Together the piece is about 9-10ft long!

Okay, I see the scissor limb pulling the arm, but what's pulling the leg? I am sorry, but that kind of bothers me. Also, I would see envy himself as green, but I still think it is great that he is purple, kind of like grapes (from the term sour grapes, which means if you don't have something, you might as well hate it).
